Good Governance

Collaboration with boards, executive directors, leadership teams, and philanthropic supporters as a resource for organizations seeking to develop internal grounding in the values they promote, and policies and practices that allow focus on the mission.

This work can include support for:

  • advising organizations on policy and procedure development, 

  • internal communications tools to improve transparency and effectiveness, 

  • board reporting and board-team communications tools, 

  • design of monitoring, learning, and evaluation (MEL) systems,

  • risk assessment and safety and security policies and procedures,

  • due diligence processes, and

  • grievance and accountability policy and procedures (see Accountability).

Leadership Transitions

Whether preparing for — or suddenly addressing — a leadership transition, consulting includes collaboration with boards of directors and leadership teams to ensure the policies, practices, and actions required for a values-driven leadership transition. 

This work may include support for succession planning based on analysis of current leadership strengths and opportunities through research, interviews, and assessments; support designing or re-designing governance or leadership structures for transitions; project mapping the steps for organizational planning and practice to prepare for a transition; and other tailored support.
